Formerly the international style editor for Architectural Digest and editor-at-large for Elle Decor, his experience has given him the privilege of stepping into some of the most fascinating spaces and homes across the globe, which have served as a constant muse for his creativity.

 

With generations of experience in the finest techniques in hand embroidery, Neha Malhotra is the creative force behind Raintree—an atelier based in Mumbai hand-crafting exquisite pieces for clients across the world. Drawing inspiration from her travels and her passion for interiors, she combines modern design with traditional techniques to create timeless pieces.

 

What started as a spontaneous meeting in 2019 led to a series of conversations over time about the intricacies of design—pondering over why there’s never been a striking work of embroidery crafted for a wall—where the duo’s experiences and vision began to fluently echo between them. While nature centres them, it also plays a big role in the inspiration behind their work. With every stroke and stitch in their hand-painted or hand-embroidered creations telling a quiet story, they find perfection in the unique imperfections that come alive in each incomparable handmade piece—similar to the earth’s creations found in nature.
